"TrekSinai – Safari Adventures in the Heart of Sinai
Welcome! I’m Suleiman Elheneny, a proud member of the Jabaliya tribe — the "people of the mountains" — whose roots run deep in the Sinai Peninsula for over 1,500 years.
Our story began when my ancestors arrived as Christian families, entrusted with protecting Saint Catherine’s Monastery, one of the oldest working monasteries in the world. In the high mountains of Sinai, they built gardens, paved stone paths, and established a vibrant, resilient way of life that has endured for centuries.
As time passed, our tribe adapted to the land. We became herders, seasonal travelers, and keepers of ancient traditions, migrating across the valleys and deserts of Sinai during the colder months, always returning to the mountains in summer — our ancestral homeland, where fresh water and cool breezes awaited us.
Today, I carry this legacy forward. I invite you to walk with me through the majestic landscapes of South Sinai — to hear the untold stories, taste the traditions, and explore the paths carved by my ancestors.
Whether you're seeking an authentic Sinai trekking experience, cultural immersion, or simply a deeper connection to nature, your journey starts here.
I created TrekSinai to share the beauty of this sacred land through authentic Bedouin experiences: hiking ancient trails, sleeping under the stars, and connecting deeply with nature and culture.
With years of guiding experience and a passion for preserving Bedouin heritage, I lead every journey with care, storytelling, and respect for the land. Whether you're joining a one-day hike or a multi-day trek, you'll walk not just through landscapes, but through history.
